Pension Reimbursement Program
The Pension Reimbursement Program was designed to help schools and career educators in the New York City Metropolitan area pay for the cost of their pension plan. In order to receive the reimbursement, a minimum contribution of 6% of an educator’s total salary is required. This contribution may be wholly contributed by the school or may be contributed in part by the educator. The school, however, must contribute a minimum of 4%. The annual reimbursement is 2% based on a maximum salary of $15,000, per year for each eligible educator enrolled in the school’s pension program.
Participants in the Pension Reimbursement Program must be employed for a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week in eligible positions in yeshivot and day schools; and a minimum of twelve (12) hours per week in supplementary schools. In order to participate in this program, the school must meet the criteria and be eligible for the Fund for Jewish Education (FJE) programs.
This program is funded by the Fund for Jewish Education (sponsored by UJA Federation and Gruss Life Monument Funds).
